Bushbabies Monkey Sanctuary is a unique free-release site and one of only a handful in the world. All primates are allowed to roam within a massive 8ha environment, free from human interaction. The sanctuary is a multi-specie site incorporating over 90 primates in total.

We are 45 minutes from Johannesburg and en-route to Sun City and offer guided tours to the public.

The Bushbabies Monkey Sanctuary is situated right next to the Elephant Sanctuary, where you can join our guides on a walk through natural indigenous forests on elevated wooden walkways and experience a variety of exotic monkeys in an exquisite environment.  The experience is described as a non-interactive game-viewing opportunity to see once-captured primates in a wild environment. Tours are highly informative and the walk is leisurely, winding its way through a tranquil forest.

A caring team who will introduce you to a unique experience, touching, feeding, walking and riding our magnificent African elephants.

The Elephant Sanctuary was established over 10 years ago with a vision to rescue animals from hunting concerns, zoos, circuses and from relocation programmes.  The Elephant Sanctuary, Hartbeespoort is home to five of these elephants, Mosadi, Themba, Khumba, Mvuso and Amarula whom you will get to meet.  Each elephant has its own personality, likes and dislikes, and your guide will facilitate you getting to know them personally. During your visit, you will experience a full elephant program and if you are at all able to, we high recommend that you maximize your experience by riding the elephants as this will enhance your understanding of how magnificent these animals are, and how graceful their movement is.  The Elephant Sanctuary also offers an overnight lodge experience, ideal conferencing venue and teambuilding activities.  Booking is essential.
